2007 Business of the Year Award

American Packaging Corporation was awarded the 2007 Business of the Year award by the City of Columbus. The award recognizes our expansion, continued growth and contributions to the community. American Packaging Corporation, Rotogravure Division, has been a large contributor to the community over the years. Some of the contributions that have been made were to the Columbus Community Hospital expansion, downtown restoration project, Aquatic Center and to the Columbus High School scholarship fund.

2007 Large Manufacturer of the Year

American Packaging Corporation has been awarded the 2007 Columbia County Large Manufacturer of the Year award. This award was sponsored by the Columbia County Economic Development Corporation. Criteria for the award included expansion and growth in production or employees, employee training programs as well as contributions to the community. APC also received recognition for its success in creating a favorable environment for its employees.

excellence in establishing and maintaining health and safety guidelines in the workplace.

Maintains VPP-Star status. This is the highest honor that a manufacturing facility can receive for health and safety programs. In addition to the certification, we received three Best Practice nominations for: Incident Investigation, Training (especially noted our video training) and Employee Involvement. There are 8,000,000 worksites in the United States and only 1300 have earned the distinction of calling themselves VPP STAR.

less then 2% of all facilities in the U.S.

- Achieved the highest rating ever given to any company and was the
1st company in Wisconsin to ever receive this safety award. The
SHARP Award honors companies which have demonstrated excellence in
establishing and maintaining health and safety guidelines in the workplace.

Human Resources Awards
2008 Best of the Best Workplaces of America
For the Second Year, American Packaging Corporation is Named "Best of the Best"
in Best Workplace in the Americas 2008 Competition. The award specifically honor printing
companies that provide a superior work environment, this year marks the eighth year of the
Best Workplace in the Americas program.
2007 Best of the Best Workplaces of America
American Packaging Corporation has been awarded the "Best Workplace in the Americas
designation, Best of the Best - 2007" by the Printing Industries of America/Graphic
Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) for its exemplary human resources practices as being
among the best in the US and Canada. The program has expanded to include twelve hundred
companies with over one million employees, and the top designation of "Best of the Best"
was created for those employers who have demonstrated a superior, long term commitment to
the needs of its employees as well as the continual improvement of their business.
American Packaging Corpration Receives Human Resources Excellence Award.
On April 24, 2003 American Packaging Corporation was chosen as one of the “final four” among over 430 member organizations for the 2003 Rochester Business Alliance Human Resources Excellence Award. American Packaging was then named one of the co-recipients at the May 6, 2003 Award Ceremony and Celebration held at the RBA Headquarters on East Avenue in Rochester, NY.
This award recognizes the contributions and achievements of an RBA HR Services member company, the impact of its human resource practices on the organization’s operational effectiveness, its community involvement, and its participation in and contribution to RBA-sponsored activities and services. Recipients of this award have demonstrated the ability to effectively influence their respective organizations in the areas of HR strategy, change management, policy administration and overall business impact.
